Motorola Rival phone text message alert issues?

I have noticed over the last week or so, that now when I receive a text message, my phone only rings for like 2 or 3 seconds. It's set to ring and vibrate, and it does both for only a few seconds so I don't think it's a problem with the ringtone. It worked fine for a few months, but I am lost as to what the problem could be. Any ideas? Thanks.
