For those contemplating between these two phones, here's a somewhat detailed comparison (by somewhat, I mean, I don't know if it's complete enough) :D
http://www.cellphone-reviews.co.uk/2010/01/motorola-droid-milestone-vs-nokia-n900.html

Summary:

Motorola Milestone
Pros:
-More Fluid UI
-Better Kinetic Scrolling
-Multitouch
-Longer Battery Life

Cons:
-Flat keyboard
-slower browser rendering

Nokia N900
Pros:
-Faster browser
-Better multimedia player
-Flash support on browser
-better keyboard

Cons:
-short battery life
-no portrait mode
-has some responsiveness issues (or do some items really require a double tap to open?!!)

IMO, Droid has the slight edge because of the overall user experience.

After using boht I think that you are missing pros; in anyway the Droid UI is more fluid than N900, here N900 wins a very very big hands down, additional is a multitasking beast, Droid can only dream about it. So here the N900 wins.

Keyboard, is not that the Droid is better, the problem is that in the n900 is needed that the keyboard slides a couple of milimeters more to be comfortable, so here the Droid wins.

Is true that the Milestone supports multitouch, but the gestures in N900 (specially in the browser) are really good, so for me is a tie.

What defines the match is no portrait mode in N900 and lack off applications, right now the Milestone seems a more rounded and finished product than the N900.
