motorola droid "SD card unmounted or not present"?

Ive have my droid for about 4 months. Its not in the best condition, it has a small crack in the glass screen at the top but it doesn't interfere with my touch screen. last weekend i left it at a friends house on accident. when she gave it back it was off. The next time i went to my gallery an error came up. "SD card unmounted or not present" I've never taken it out or anything. Also, i cant take pictures. What do i do?
 
Make sure the SD card is still there. Then go to Settings > SD card & phone storage, and choose unmount. Then unplug the SD card and plug it back in. If that doesn't work, try turning the phone off and on again.
