Motorola Droid Help - Internal Phone Memory to SD Card?

My phone is updated to 2.2, but I want to know how to switch apps over to my SD card. I know you go to settings-applications and then manually transfer the ones that can, but when I try to download an app now, it says "Not enough internal storage remaining", and cancels the download. How can I make apps download RIGHT to the SD card?
