Its the same thing. When you connect the phone to your pc, if you look in device manager it will show
Android USB Devices
Mot Composite ADB Interface

So if you have that part, then I don't know what else it could be. Try a google search of your problem and see if you can come up with any solutions.
I'm stumped.

I cant get hw vsp to connect for some reason. I reboot. hold down "T" and it boots to a normal screen. which I read is normal. but once I launch hws vsp it wont connect and does not recognize any device. I also dont see a connect as stated. All I have is login and create com. and its not letting me use the create com button. If I look in advanced tab it is set on the local machine and ip is 127.0.0.1 port 80 is this right?
No settings are checked in the settings tab.

Also I opened CDMA ws 2.7. but I do not have a settings tab. also I did not ever see a check box with nv enabled.

any help would be appreciated

Ok so I took care of my problem and thought I would report back. I was using CDMA WS 2.7 I went through and got the new 3.5.5 (that takes a while) and was able the finally write the 5 NV item file (the 12 NV item file from white rabbit fails to upload -- similar error) ... one trick I had to do to get the 5 NV items uploaded is to go to the main tab and click the read button... that seemed to reset whatever communication failure was occurring. Didn't seem to matter what I did I couldn't get the 12 item file uploaded ... always failed after 1.

12 items 5 items ... does not seem to matter ... I got those updated rebooted the phone and it came ALIVE with internet (while waiting for the my updated CDMA WS I finished everything else)

Thanks for the guide, thanks for the help, ... just THANKS!:clapping:

diagnostic mode = hold down T and boot --> on mine I get a notification bar with no symbols when USB is plugged in, if I boot normal I get a ! on the notification bar that says USB debugging while USB is plugged up.

So if USB is plugged up and nothing is showing on the notification bar then you should be good.

I had success using on virtual serial port tab
port name: com3
ip address: 192.168.16.2
port: 11008
no check in the box and 2003 out next to that un checked box
settings tab-- (didn't change anything)
log enabled
connect to device even if virtual com is closed
nvt enable (and remote port setup)
advanced tab-- (didn't change anything)
local machine 127.0.0.1:1231

You DO need to login first on hw vsp. My create com button is grey'd out until I click login.

OK I got HW VSP to work. Now I am stuck on the CDMA ws steps. I am using CDMA 2.7 and following a tutorial writen for using thatworkshop version. Since 2.7 does not have the EvDo tab when I go in to QPST I am not getting any recognition of the phone. I have checked several COM ports and the phone is not showing up. Under IP server the settings are as follows:

accept client connections is unchecked
use pc IP add. is unchecked and the info in that group is blank.
Use specific IP add. Ip address there is 192.168.10.1
then use system ***. port is checked and port number is 0

When I go in to add a new port I have tried both checkign and unchecking the USB/qc port box. Still nothing shows up. The I have installed the Motorola drivers and whenever I plugin the phone motoconnect pops up and the status shows connected.

I have 4 bars and it says 3g and I get 160kbps down and 1.5mpbs up but when I make a phone call it drops to 1 bar and the 3g dissapears? what am I doing wrong? is 3G for data only?

PHONE: DROID
PRL: CRKTNAT6399-Works.prl
Baseband Version: C_01.43.01P
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9
Build Number: FRF84B

1xRTT and EVDO are both 3G. 1xRTT is used for voice and data, but EVDO is only used for data. When you make a call it goes into 1X mode only, but it is still 3G. The icons are misleading and probably a relic of Android's GSM past. More accurate icons would say "1X" and "EV". You are always using 3G on CDMA.

I got it to work. I was not disconnecting the connection on CDMA.

I am not getting any web service though. works great on wifi.....but on crickets mobile web I get 1x for a second then it drops.

I got it to work. I was not disconnecting the connection on CDMA.

I went and got a account on the phone. came back and changed all the mdn and min info and everything with the number@mycricket. Phone works to call and wifi works great but when I try to use cricket mobile web I get 1x for a second then it leaves. Everything is set under the prl 38815. and all the mms and stuff is set with the proper settings.

They told me to change the CID for the phone which I did not do.....if I need to change that can someone tell me how to do it. Other than that I was considering using the prl 6499 but could not find the prl file. any suggestions?

thanks sweetie. Im going to check & use your tips n' try to figure out this problem. I'll report back if its fixed so if anyone has the same problem as i do, they can know exactly what to do next time.

so I wanted to update my progress a bit. I re flashed everything and used the 6399 prl instead of the 38515. I now get the 3G instead of the 1x. But still get no internet. I also have lost the ability to send text messages. I used checked the program settings using ##program and everything seemed ok. I also used the *#*#4636#*#* and c hecked in there. The CDMA ID was set to 2. (dunno what that is I am guessing its the CID)I am goign to re flash it again with the 6499 prl.

I also did the autostart check mentioned earlier through the command prompt. After I ran the script It it did not say anything. it just gave me the # symbol after it echoed the command.
