Motorola Droid Full Solution Updated

that didnt work either. I may have to reflash from the beginning.

That doesnt work either. Is there a way to erase all date on the phone and start from scratch. I did the sbf recovery and that didnt erase it either.

an SBF flash should erase absolutely EVERYTHING on the phone. It's VZW's own fail-safe to get the phone back to complete factory stock. What do you have that's user-based in your phone after you sbf'd?

Where can I find Verizons sbf. Im going to search for it. Yes basically everything is still there. The smoked glass rom and the prl too. So Im thinking that it is keeping all the info.

You can always link to my site. I just prefer to have links go to my android page and not specific files linked from it. Please don't link directly to my u2nl.zip for example, because this way I can always change the site around without breaking links. Right now I have a redirect in place to forward back to /android if someone clicks on the gijoey link, because that guide is no longer needed thanks to this thread.

I'll link to it right now, http://www.whiterabbit.org/android/

The main reason I'm shy about linking to it myself is because it feels tacky to "promote" my own site. If others do it, it's much easier for me :)

Thanks to everyone in this forum. The issues and questons and getting answers have allowed me to flash the motorola droid with everything working. I now have a problem with battery life after autostart was installed. ANyone else having this problem and how can i improve my battery life? Again thanks to EVERYONE.

Autostart. Apk sets my phone on fire also. I've learned to do without, and run autostart.sh manually through root explorer every time I boot. You only have to run it once per boot.

@tzBIGWORM & @New2game The problem with Autostart.apk is that it doesnt kill itself when its done running autostart.sh on boot. This can be fixed by manually killing it with Advanced TaskKiller (Market). Also helps to reboot your phone at least once a day. As for battery life, I have been using SetCPU.apk (Market) and set it to conservative. Since this, my battery life, and temp, have been alot better. Also, last I heard, to0 is working on a better Autostart app. Any update on this would be great to0. :buddies:

@classickworld If I am not mistaken, wifi tether overwrites everything we do in iptables. So as of now, no, it will not work. However, get PdaNet.apk (Market). I use it to USB tether and it works great.

EDIT: Is it possible for a mod to let me edit the tutorial? There are a few typos that really need to be fixed. This will fix some of the issues people are having. Namely the /data/opt/autostart.sh not found issue.

Haha, I know exactly how autostart.apk works. IMO, it's a program for lazy people, lol. I remember one time I let my phone die, then plugged it into the wall, but forgot to kill autostart until the next day. My phone was thus converted into a hand warmer, seriously.

Also, WiFi tether works for me no problem.

Maybe we should add a line to autostart.sh to kill the buggy autostart program.

I'm assuming you guys have ps/grep/awk/kill with busybox installed, so it should be an easy fix.
