Motorola Droid Full Solution Updated

I have tried over and over to get a ROM with 2.1 built in such as ChevyNo1's ROM Simply Stunning v3.1 and Bugless Beast however it clearly states anyone coming from 2.01 must do a wipe. I'm currently fully flashed on 2.01 with EVERYTHING working. I really want the 2.1 features and a custom ROM however none of these ROMS are working for me when I install them. It keeps recycling the boot up screen and never loads.

That is just one issue...

I try doing a simple ROM like DroidMod 1.0 with Live Wallpapers but doesn't have 2.1 built in, and I can get it to boot up and I have talk/text however my mms/wap is disabled. I tried the autostart.sh and I don't have it in my root directory, nor can I push it, I can't get my command prompt to act right... it's saying that "adb" is not a proper command...

Please help with some step by step info on what I need to do... I just want 2.1 working on my Cricket. I will do a full wipe if necessary I just wanna know exactly what I need to do from start to finish... Thanks in advance, I'm somewhat new to this and just need a some guidance. :confused:

that happened to me when trying to install bugless rom(with 2.1) but i went into recovery and cleared cache and data like 3 times restarted and worked ,, alsoo i have a question,, do i necesarily need to put the p3 kernels to have it working or by using just bugless beast will get it working??,, i tried but no luck its just that i want to know if its somethiung im doing wrong or it just cant be done without those kernels oo by the way i have the 3g icon its just that when i go to web services like browser it sends but doesnt recieve anything
 
Goto page 1. Do everything EXACTLY as listed. Put the sprecovery.sbf file on, again if you have to, then try cyanogen or smoked glass since we all know those are tested and proven to work. Do not skip a single step PERIOD. At any point, if you run into a problem, pm me or syztym or post it here and we will help you with it.
 
please help with putting phone on diagnostic mode, I do the hold 't' and then power it just loads to regular android. thanks for your help in advance

now my problem is I am not using proxies because I have a broadband account I want to use instead. the evdo doesnt seem to be sticking and i never get a network connection
any help / direction is greatly appreciated!
 
I don't understand what i'm doing wrong.

if i install just the smoked glass rom there will be no working wifi. and i can't mount to have write access to /system . so no adb push commands would work.

so, i installed bugless beast it worked as fair as wifi and allowing me to adb push commands. But, still no 1x or 3g icon.

Then i read a posting here saying to run an update. it was called ese81v1.zip . so i applied the ese81v1.zip after a smoked glass install.

loaded the bootloader and loaded update.zip (ese81v1.zip renamed to update.zip)

After boot, wifi works and adb remount. and all commands.

I've done this several ways, following directions to a tee.

I wanted to setup my brothers phone for mms and web. Hes been so patient, i'm starting to feel really bad for him.

I even bought a droid so i can play around with the settings. without having to take over his phone. while , i research everything.

I have purchased cdma WS 3.5. works great i load the 5 nv items and other settings without an issue.

Please, i'm disparate to get this working i have over $400 dollars invested already.

i dont get whats wrong i get the 3g icon i have bugless beast with the update on it already and i follow the instuctions step by step the only thing is that when i type in:

chmod 0755 /system/bin/u2nl
chmod 0755 /data/opt/autostart.sh

in cmd.exe it tells me theres no such file so i dont know what it is that im doing wrong can someone please help me?
 
that means the u2nl and the austostart.sh is not in the locations u are specifying. try this place both the u2nl and the autostart.sh in the root of c drive (not in any folder) then type this at ur android\tools directory

adb remount
adb push C:\u2nl /system/bin/u2nl
adb push C:\autostart.sh /data/opt/autostart.sh
 
in cmd.exe:
cd c:\android\tools\
adb remount
adb push u2nl /system/bin/u2nl
adb push autostart.sh /data/opt/autostart.sh
adb shell
chmod 0755 /system/bin/u2nl
chmod 0755 /data/opt/autostart.sh
reboot
