Motorola Droid Bluetooth contacts?

I just got a droid yesterday and I am trying to transfer my contacts from my old phone (lg versa) to my droid via bluetooth. However, each time i connect the two devices my droid says paired but not connected and it won't allow me to send my contacts. How can i get my droid to accept the contacts from my old phone? do i have to change a setting or is there an app in the market or any alternatives on moving my contacts from my old phone besides manually typing them in. Thank you for any help
