Motorola Droid Battery Help?

My phone upgrade finally came yesterday and I got the Droid. Its a BEAUTIFUL phone but the rate at which the battery dies is horrific! I left the phone to charge all night and it completely died within three hours with heavy use (playin uno while listening to music on speaker). So I charged it again and with moderate use and turning all the "battery suckers" down it barely lasts 7 hours. I've never had a smartphone but I understand they use a lot of battery power but is the normal?? I called Motorola today and they said after a few charge cycles it will get much better has your droid battery gotten better or was it never this bad to begin with?

Btw the phone is still kickazz im even using it to do this post right now!

I do agree that the phone is kickass :)

Two things I recommend for you:

1. Put the Power Control Widget on one of your screens- its one-touch on-off controls for, from left to right: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Sync, and screen brightness. The screen is definitely the biggest battery hog by far on the Droid, so if you can keep it turned down even one level (and the more the better), the more battery life you'll save.

2. Download Advanced Task Killer from the market. When you run multiple apps like that, theyre still running in the background even after you're done using them. This app will let you select which apps you wanna close. I would recommend not closing any apps that constantly pull background data (email, weather apps, etc.)- many times, that will mess up the app and your phone. I would recommend running the killer 3-4 times a day, and more, if you use it more often.

Good luck!
