motorola droid 1 volume up key broke?

okay so my volume up key broke on my droid for some reason. the volume down key works but not the volume up. then one day i went to sleep. the phone didnt work so i brought it into verizon store, the guy opened it up said the battery got wet, i told him the phone should still be covered by warranty and he said he wouldnt be able to do anything about it. i really need my phone, it works, only thing wrong is the battery wet, and volume up key not working so he could do the hard reset to it... idk what to do. its kind of ironic that the hard reset button just happened to break? i wonder if they rig these phones.. huh idk but i need some help, maybe theres a way i could go somewhere and they would fix this for me but im not sure, what do you guys say? and i need this phone ASAP
