Motorola CLIQ XT says its shutting down for last 5 hours?

I tried turning it off before i worked, and i'm done with work now and its still saying "Shutting Down" and i can't access the homepage thing or anything. If i hold down the power button the power off menu comes up but i can't do execute any of the actions it gives me. i got a text a while ago, but can't read it or anything.
