I have had a Belkin router for quite a while now. I have used it in this apartment with thte same company and everything went great. Recently, I had the internet shut off to place in a different name because my roommate moved.
Since the internet has been turned back on, it has not worked a day in two weeks if hooked to the router. The cable company said my router was the problem even though it moved slowly when initially hooked directly to the tester.
I bought a brand new router and I am having the same problem. It only works when hooked directly to my computer.
Any suggestions? I am becoming very frustrated...
Also, the cable company was showing on their system that the cable modem was hooked to a router even when it was not.
It seems as though some thing on the cable companies end has severely degraded bandwidth.
The MAC address clone worked great thank you very much. It is still slow and intermittently cuts out though. I am not getting any real help from the support company. They are trying to say now that there may be a conflict between my Apple computer and the router, which there isn't because it has worked perfectly for a long time.
It seems that any time I try to do anything bandwidth intensive the internet cuts out for a few minutes then starts back normally.
