So I was at the AT&T store signing up for my service two days ago and I was dying to get the Motorola Backflip -- I have been since it came out. The lady checked the inventory. They had three Backlfips, all of which were in the repair shop. She then checked all stores within a certain number of miles, and none of them had any in working order. So proceeded to tell me that the Backflip had been discontinued, but that she did not know why. She said we could find another model, but she strongly advised us against it because if you do not purchase a phone at the time that you sign up for your service you have to wait 6 months to buy a new phone, even if it breaks.
So, does anyone know if and why the Backflip has been discontinued? And if a better version will be released?
