Motorcyclists Unsightly?

I live a town over from them and they have been trying to get rid of motorcyclists for a while.

Here is an example this is a sign in one of the main parking lots in the town.

If it was just related to main st why would they put no motorcycles? Wouldn't they put no cars also?

This is besides the point though the whole reason i posted this is how discriminatory it is towards us all. We are on the same side here, and i thought riders everywhere would feel offended by this.

do you have a lot of Motorcycle "Clubs" in that area? I see they do want cycles extra gone, maybe the no parking thing is mainly to get rid of the motorcycles. The unsightly motorcyclists part was offensive, I took the no motorcycles part a little different more on the no parking side of things. If these are types of signs though that would change things they do seem to dislike motorcycles. Almost reminiscent of the South Park episode where they started calling Harley riders f@gs.
I took the no parking to mean no cars.

I don't feel like we have a lot of clubs but i personally wouldn't know that well since i shy away from that part of the culture. However when around there i don't think i have ever seen one person wearing a club vest or something distinguishing them as in a club.

I'm sure the main problem is that there is of course the occasional jerk who rolls into town bouncing off the rev limiter. 99% of us are just there to hang out and enjoy shooting the sh*t with other riders. It is the occasional "f@g" who ruins it for everyone, i can't help but think of the harley episode too, easily one of my favorites. It is just a huge shame that because of things like this we get a bad reputation.

I still don't understand the unsightly part my guess some people still think we are all riding around in our leather vests, half helmets with spikes, chains and big beards looking like we haven't showered in days.

Loud pipes cost rights.

While you may love the sound of those race termi's, and every HD dude loves the sound of his screamin' eagle pipes. Everybody else HATES it.

This is becoming a bigger problem across the country as every-day citizens get sick and tired of loud exahast system. I predict National Parks will be the next to start banning motorcycles, all because of loud pipes.

This is why I tend to keep stock exhaust on my street bikes.

I've seen towns try to ban motorcycles, and they all forgot one small detail: All motor vehicles pay registration and fuel taxes to maintain the roads, and you can't deny the use of any road or street that's built or maintained using road tax money as long as traffic laws are obeyed.

The sign in the picture above is obviously in a private lot. A business owner can ban anything he wants. Disregarding it constitutes simple trespass.
