my son wants to be a motorcycle mechanic, does anyone know of any training centers/schools in or near pittsburgh pa that train motorcycle mechanics?

No not to sure but I am attending the one in Orlando, FL its called MMI (motorcycle mechanics institute) and I have been here for a year. It is a good school and your son will learn dam near everything there is to know about motorcycles. They offer Honda, which is a 24 week program, Kawi, which is a twelve week program, yamaha, and suzuki, which are both 12 week programs. They also offer Harley davidson which I believe is a 56 week program or some where around there. They start you off in mpt classes which are classes that are cut up to focus on certain part of the motorcycle such as engine and transmission, electrical, suspension and chassis, machine shop work, Dino class, and so on, after that you break off into your electives. When you come out you are an entry level technician if you want to know any more they have a website. http://www.uti.edu/Motorcycle/tabid/59/Default.aspx

I agree with lbzracin... I am a graduate of MMI too. Because the curriculum is from the manufactures you learn right the first time. They will also help with housing and job placement. I went to the Phoenix campus and I am very happy with my education. I still work in the industry 8 years later.
