Motorcycle accident, not my bike, bike insured, who is liable? Long read,

please help....? My brother took out his friends motorcycle. Brother doesn't have motorcycle license. While making a left turn, a car and him had accident. At this point unclear as to who caused the accident, he claims car ran light and T-boned him. Bike is damaged, as is the car; no one was hurt. Bike insured by InsureOne of Illinois, under my brothers friends name=owner of the bike. Car has insurance. Brother received 3 tickets: 1)improper turn, 2) no license, 3) no glasses/helmet (I think). Court date coming up.

What can happen in this case? Will the bike insurance cover the costs, even though owner didn't cause accident? Will car insurance pay for repairs? Will my brothers car insurance cover him in this situation? Will my brother end up paying for EVERYTHING out of pocket, plus court fines? Can his license be suspended?

Insurance follows the vehicle so if the bike was indeed insured (collision) then the insurer should pay for the damages on the bike less the stated deductible amount and the damage to the car. Your brother needs to do the right thing and pay the deductible amount to his friend. This is all assuming he is at fault. A ticket for improper turn is probably a indicator that he will not get off the hook for this one.
