motorcross bike question. Am i going to die?

I have just purchased a 4 stroke 250cc kawasaki 2005. Its stunning to look at and i got it for a good price. However, i am just getting back in to motorcross after a long break and the biggest bike i had raced before was a 100cc, so i was planning on getting a 125cc to start back on, but i have been advised by a reliable source to not get the 2 stroke 125 as it will be to flighty and hard to handle for my first bike back and was told to go with the monster i have just bought, like i said, will i die or is it not that bad?????thanks
