Moto V180 vs. Samsung X495

I know this isn't the most inspired set of choices to cell phone experts, but here we are:

We bought a Moto V180 new on ebay a few weeks ago for my wife's TMTG phone. It seems nice and the reception is way better than the Nokia 6010 that it replaced. We were able this week to luck into a free Samsung X495. So now my wife is deciding which phone she likes better. We will sell the other one.

The Moto works well, and I guess I would think Moto makes better phones than Samsung, but I don't really know. Neither phone has a camera or blue tooth, but one was $60 and one was free

My wife seems to like the slightly bigger screen on the Samsung better and the lack of an antenna (vs. the half or 3/4 inch antenna nub on the V180). Anyone have any thoughts on which phone will be better in the long run for a decent, basic flip phone?

The Samsung is a pretty good phone, clear calls, good features for a free phone and the screen is much better than the Moto. I've heard from friends that the Moto is built like a tank, so if your wife is prone to dropping her phone, the Moto should be a better choice.

But the Samsung is nice and their build quality has improved a lot in the past couple of years. (I am now the proud owner of a Samsung phone, and they've come a long way [I used to hate their phones])

Hope this helps!

V180 screens have a nasty habit of going out, its actually the ribbon connector. Its whats known as a low end Moto. As much as I hate to say it, if the Samsungs reception is good, go with that.

The V188 is a piece is garabe. Marginal reception, terrible build quality, easy to destroy crappy looking display, terrible quality control, etc. The Samsung is a much better phone.
