Moto RAZR V3c, can't get EVDO to work

My phone was bought FROM Cricket, and I've looked everywhere for help getting EVDO to work on it. I have PRL 1050, but all I can find is a guide on how to edit HDR settings for a Moto Q that was flashed from Verizon. I'm confused and a little ticked off. Can someone please help this poor idiot?

If you have a V3C NOT a V3a AND if you have the correct PRL AND you have EVDO in your area, then it should "just work". Nothing to change. The "1X" icon should now read "3G" or "EV".

I see. It IS a V3c, and Santa Fe IS an EVDO-enabled area, BUT there seem to be mixed results with the 1050 prl, maybe 90% of the time it worked. I can't think of any other reason it wouldn't work besides the prl or authentication.

1050 works pretty much everywhere here in Albuquerque, but in fringe areas the phone will revert to 1X. I'm not sure what the EVDO footprint looks like in Sante Fe. Could you be in a non-EVDO area of Sante Fe?

If you think it could be a prl issue, have you tried prl 38515? It was the first leaked EVDO prl for our area. PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.

dude...i have tried on v3c/v3m/l7c and none are getting evdo here...balls!!!

i have evdo and it works here on all ppc's with the 1050 prl...but none of the ones i mentioned above.

I don't know if I'm on the fringe or not, but I've read that Santa Fe SHOULD have EVDO.

As far as other PRLs, I tried 38515 first, and it made my phone freak out. I was told that it is a roaming PRL and that I must have a roaming plan for it to work. Problem is, I don't need a roaming plan, as I hardly ever leave this area.

So you're in Santa Fe, and your PPC's get EVDO, but not the other ones? I wonder why that is.... Does anyone else live in or around SF that could confirm their EVDO?

no, i'm in houston and was just saying that i'm having the same issue with the those moto's...i got a new v3c last night and i'll hook it up soon to check it out as well.

That's very odd. I've loaded both 38515 and 1050 on V3c, V3m and L7c and I get either "3G" or "EV" depending on what carrier the phone is originally from.

I've had 1050 and 38515 on a Q, 6700, V3c and V3m all without roamimg plans and both prls worked.

It would be interesting to see what the phone does next time you come down to Abq.

I have customers in Santo Domingo Pueblo that have EVDO working with both prls on a variety of phones. So you wouldn't have to drive that far south to test it.

Hmmm.. interesting. Well, both PRLs caused my phone to freak, though 1050 worked the second time. Maybe I should try 38515 again?

I'll keep you posted on that.

I have most of my prls saved as *.prl. But I've loaded *.rla files to Motos as well and I didn't notice any differences.

I use both RSD General or CDMA Workshop to update prl files.
