Moto Droid Android 2.2?

hey sorry if this is the wrong spot to post this but i got my moto droid on may 7th and wanted to know if android 2.2 is going to be available for my droid? np if it takes longer than the new android phones but i eventually want it.

i love my droid and i have to use it for 6 months because i got it for 19 bucks on amazon wireless so after the 6 months is up i can buy a new one
