motion tween flash CS4?

my image will not motion tween, it just jumps rom one spot to the other at the final frame, ive tried everything but it only works when i do a classic tween

the arrow on the sequencer bit doesn't even show up

thanks for any suggestions you may have
also there no button for add motion guide on my screen
