Mother-n-law is a truck driver?

I called the company my mother-n-law works for and told them she needs to come home her son has liver damage and they are going to fly him to another hospital and I have stayed in touch with her and she still has not gotten a word from them on the qualm or by phone. I talked to the eve nig dispatch and gave him all the info and here she still waiting on what to do with this load and she is 9 hrs from the house waiting?? Now she will leave and come back to the house but she wants it to be on good terms she is responsible for this load but something needs to be done she has been waiting now for 6 hours and still no contact from this company SHE works for?? Her son will be dead by the time she gets here if not sooner this is how bad it is. So what I am asking is what can be done about this cause this company will try to charge her with stolen or unauthorized use of vechile and her son in hospital?? This is how these companies do their drivers forget you have a family just get the load there then you can go home?? This is wrong can anyone make any sujestions??

The son is more important. If the company won't stand by their employees in times of need then get documentation. record the phone call and ask to speak to the big boss. Let them know that you are in a perilous time and will take this to the news and media.
Mom home now are your terms.
One of my closest friends worked for a trucking company about ten years ago. He had a situation like this and mailed his load and truck home on a freight train. The bill was sent to the company paid upon delivery. The cost was not cheap.
Sorry to hear about the hard times. It comes during difficult times. Hang through it. Times can only get better.

Yes she needs to keep on them on the phone and by the qualcom. She needs to tell them the doctor can fax any proof they need. If it were my son I would tell them there truck will be at the nearest truckstop and I would lock it up there and make sure the padlock was on the load and hitch a ride with another trucker if I had to in order to get with my son. If they are ignoring her she needs to make them answer. They can always get ahold of dispatch. Do not let her take no for an answer, they are probably having a hard time finding a driver in the area that has no load. But, they need to think of her and her son too

I don't understand the problem, I guess. Is there a need for a parent or guardian to give consent? Is there no other next of kin? A father, maybe? Even an uncle or aunt? I take it that the son is a minor.
Or, is this a matter of money?
If it is a matter of consent, she can fax that or for that matter fax you a power of attorney so that you can give the permission. She could probably just talk to the Dr. over the phone as long as there is a witness on another line, doesn't she have a cell phone?
Of course, the company is not going to authorize her to abandon a $150k tractor, $60k trailer which is carry who knows how many millions of $ worth of cargo. If she leaves that truck, she will probably never work as a truck driver again.
If he has liver damage, then he probably has been doing drugs. Hard to get excited about a drug addict.
