There are some comedy films that get quoted and referenced for not just one scene but almost all the scenes in the entire movie because it is that original and clever. This includes stuff like "Airplane", "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", most of Mel Brooks movies, "Blues Brothers" and maybe even Edger Wright's films like "Hot Fuzz".
"The Emperor's New Groove" seems to be the equivalent of all these films when it comes to animation. I have never seen an animated film quoted as much as this one. Granted, animation relies on visuals more than dialogue but I couldn't help but notice this. Let me give you a few examples:
* The waterfall scene.
* "Why do we even have that lever?"
* "Is that MY voice?"
* "For the last time, we did not order a giant trampoline."
* Kronk's shoulder angel and devil. In fact, ANYTHING with Kronk!
Then again, some of these examples was reused for that "New School" series (It got a little better. The final episode made a reference to LOST of all things.) Can you think of an animated film (not short or series) that is like this?
