Most memorable metal solo's

There are some absoloutely brilliant and classic solo's produced today, and over the past 20 years or so metal has completely revoloutionised the art of the solo, they are now less cautious, more balls out, take that punk you ****!, and better constructed.

For me the most memorable solo is Kirk Hammet's solo for the Metallica classic one. Although they aren't my favourite band, nor do I believe they have enough talent to deserve their fame and fortune however, there is something about that solo that will stick with you from the first time you hear it. Other solo favourites include many Children of Bodom, Megadeth, Led Zep, Iron Maiden and so forth...

So rack the noggin and give some input on your most memorable solo...

classic metal: Randy Rhodes - Bark At The Moon, apparently it took 3 whole days in the studio to record
new metal : Dragonforce - Fury Of The Storm!!! almost 2 minutes and 45 seconRAB. GENIUS!!!!

Awesome 10min drum solo in Moby dic Led Zepplin, keeps me interested everytime, has stuck with me since i was about 9 Yrs old, and a solo done by Joey out of slipknot where he is tied to a car seat connected to a platform with drums and he is lifted up and turns around upside down and comes back down while still beating away at the drums! insane stuff

The whole of White Summer/Black Mountainside which is basically a solo performance by Jimmy Page even though it appears on the led zep album

yeah JOn's a good guy..the solos on the light that blinRAB, enlightened by the cold, what drives the weak, inspiration on demand, and the power of i and i, i think are all great. i love the way there guitars sound.

Dave and Adrian from Iron Maiden had some of the best twin guitar interplay on a lot of their solos - Two Minutes To Midnight - The Trooper - all of Killers - good stuff. Also for pure shredfest Yngwie was hard to beat.

Janick Gers and Dave Murray, in 'Lightning strikes twice', on Virtual VI
awesome
but its very rare they'll do a **** solo actually

werd out to ****ing michael angelo baggio as well

what there is no solo in third eye?

Have just heard new solo Just Today, Joey from Slipkot on the new live album 9.0: Live [Live] [Disc 1] track 11 it goes off a track dedicated to him!

Most solo's by Children of Bodom, some of my favourite Dimebag solo's being CFH, Walk and Cemetary gates. Plus Cliff Burtons bass solo's own most of the guitar solo's ever made. Especially For Whom The Bell Tolls from Cliff 'Em All. Another is the solo from The Dagger by Roadrunner united.

my fav. solos would have to be......

Master of Puppets- Metallica
Nothing Else Matters- Metallica
Breathe New Life- Damageplan
Balze of Glory- Bon Jovi (not a big fan but the solo is still cool)
Bitter Pill- Warrant
Eruption- Van Halen
Disturbed- Stricken

One by metallica, it was my brothers avorite song when i was young so i heard the solo so many times when i was young. The vertion of the solo off s&m is better though.
