OK, lets see how long this stays open. I am not talking about hardcore 'nature' films full of couples humping, but truly erotic films.

What films do you consider the most erotic?
 
I thought that The English Patient was very erotic - due mainly to what you DIDN'T see, and the great chemistry between Kristin Scott Thomas and Ralph Fiennes. So often, things are much better left to the imagination.
 
I think that eroticism is one of those difficult things to define. I think that there are plenty of films with the soft focus lenses and silhouettes, but I don't really find them particularly erotic - more tacky and cheesy. Unfortunately, this leaves little else left to choose from ;)

In an interesting twist on the theme, I can say that 'Baise-Moi' is perhaps the best example of anti-eroticism I can think of - sex used as a weapon as opposed to enjoyed. Crap film, but good for critiqu

A bit of a noir theme going on there...maybe that genre lenRAB itself well to eroticism (in my eyes, anyway :-)
 
The film Threesome 'starring' Laura Flynn Boyle, that guy from Dead Poets Society who dates the posh girl and one of the Baldwin brothers. This film is hot, hot, hot throughout and funny as hell. Watch this with a date and if you don't get some you might as well consider the church as a career.

Black Narcissus. Probably the most vivid depiction of suppressed sensuality ever captured on film.

The chess game in The Thomas Crown Affair and the scene with Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie in Don't Look Now are also great calls.

I was waiting for someone to say The Piano... It's always hailed as being an erotic film, and much as I tried, I really really didn't get it. Actually, The Piano would go in my 'Most overrated film' list. :)
