OK - I am going to jump in here one time... I have posted on this before and wanted to stay away from Internet "Hey, I heard this"

CA (like a lot of states) has had a noise law on the books for many years - most of the time it is not enforce unless the riders fails the attitude test..

This new law on the Gov desk has also been around for some time.. It has been watered down to what it is today - I fully expect it to pass - if not now - in the very near future.

Do I agree, not really - However, Most people out their really do not care about bikers or about their pipes - all they hear are the few idiots that have hurt it for the rest of us.

This new law that is on his desk ONLY efects any new bike sold ON/After Jan 1, 2013... It is going to be interesting to see how the Motorcycle makers greet this new law. I expect a lot of CA bikes will be sold that last year.

If this passes and I expect it to - What happens in CA is ofter followed by other states. Its coming get ready.

The new story that is quoted by the OP is poorly written.

Why did this bill come about?

Because the jack hole who likes to rev his "loud pipes saves lives" at every intersection in a residential area. How many of you fit that discription?

Yes, in my younger years I ran straight pipes but I tried to keep it down when around people who would make my life HELL if I was a jack hole.

Stupid should hurt!!!
 
I do have a Loud Pipe Saves lives patch on my vest, but I do not ride my bike like an idiot either.

Pete, you have heard my bike in person. I don't rev my engine at lights or in neighborhoods, as I think it's retarded.

On another note, the first and only time i was at Hell's Kitchen, i saw signs posted saying please do not leave our premises loudly or something to that affect. And probably 90% of the guys tore outta there like bats outta hell. Idiots!
