My son has a 78 Batavus Starflite moped. It was running last year but was parked with gas in it over the winter. We drained the fuel and put new in, put a new spark plug in, but when you kick it...nothing. It's not as though it's trying to start and not, it's just spinning as though the engine isn't being kicked. I'm not sure where to begin looking at it so any help would be appreciated!
How exactly do I check to see if I have spark?
It was initially trying to turn but slowly stopped "catching"...now when the pedal is kicked, the engine doesn't try to turn over, it just spins? Could I have worn something out trying to start it?
