...pissed.? So, I've been trying to write for a while, and I've finally decided I want to make my story a published one eventually. I am a quarter of the way through, and one of my 'friends' begged me to put him in it some how. So I did and told him I would have him "as a leading character or something."
Now that I've told him that I was planning on publishing it, and there was a chance I could possibly get $5000 for the book from a publisher, he was all like "I get 2500..." I don't know if he was just being a smart ass or what, so I said "Why?" He said "Because I provided inspiration" in a smartalecky way. We went on about it, I didn't want to shoot him down or anything, but I wanted to tell him that if anything, he was hindering the stories progress. I didn't have any place for him in the story in the first place, and It's too limiting to have to keep him alive as a main character in it (Its a zombie-ish-themed story, good for teens my age...). The second part I had began to write strayed very far from my original intentions and I plan upon doing a massive rewrite, as to prevent it from #1, having other people claim credit for my hard work, and #2, so I can enjoy writing the story.
Anyways, I don't care if he was just joking, he presents a threat of stealing my ideas and plagerism, and I think he would care more about getting money from me than appreciating the fact that he is my friend. I have even severely altered the first part of the story so that it is far better than the original draft, so that way he can't try to steal the idea from me. I do not trust him, he is a mooch and I feel as though I am drifitng apart from the group I hang out with entirely.
