Monster 696 vs. Hypermotard 1100

I've taken the wife out a few times on the 696 and she finds it ok. The only thing I was worried about was the heat from the pipes. The heat shields are not the best in the world but my wife hasn't burt herself yet.

I'd probably look at getting carbon fibre heat shields as they would work a little bit better ?? Riding in heavy traffic I could see it being an issue.

The seat on the 696 slopes forward. I would have a test ride on one first as it can crush a mans nuts if he's not careful.

OH yea, with the wife on the back, it pushes your nuts forward onto the tank.

Actually the thread started over a year ago. I own a 696 and an 848 and love both. The 696 is awsome for getting around town and while it is still alot of fun on backwoods twisty roads, the 848 is more set up for that kind of riding. I've toured on both and had great times on them. The wife likes riding the 696 as it was mostly bought with her in mind. We got the optional lower seat for her and she finds it a great bike. Was a win win buying the 696.
