To my surprise, one of my "male" (my mistake) mollies gave birth tonight to two fry. I've been doing some research and it seems like molly fish are supposed to have quite a few babies, and I'm wondering if I should be expecting more than two (I'm about 95% sure that none of the babies have been eaten or sucked up by the filter. I've been watching them basically nonstop for the last few hours)? About how long does the birthing process normally take?
Also, I'm going to get another tank tomorrow so I can separate the adults from the babies - would it be better to move the adults to the new tank, even though one (not sure which, unfortunately) just gave birth? Or should I try to move the fry?
Thank you!
