Anyone have suggestions for the best moisturizer for acne prone skin? I've been using Neutrogena for years, but my skin is getting very flaky from my prescription Benzaclyn.

Olay foaming cleanser for sensitive skin. although i wouldnt recommend using a topical while on spiro, unless your doctor thinks its necessary.

I dont use medications except occasionally, but I have read a lot on acne message boarRAB and read a lot of responses to similar questions and Olay Sensitive skin formula is good. Cetaphil is a bit creamier than some so you could also try that. I cant use cetaphil in the summer because I get too oily but I dont have dry skin so it could be good for you. But I know that these two are good ones for ance prone skin.

When my skin is dry I use aloe vera and then cetaphil cream. If your skin is still dry, try aquaphor healing ointment. it's the heaviest moisturizer that i've found, but it does sometimes break me out if i use too much.

Thanks Caliente - I actually meant a topical to help with the scarring - I'm hoping I can ask for a cream for the dark red marks that acne has left me with - rather than an anti-acne topical. If such a thing exists?

try Alpha Hydrox 12% AHA Souffle. you can find it at walgreens. its strong stuff, stings a little, and may make your skin flaky for a few weeks, but it works. i've been using it for one month and almost all of my red marks are gone. i dont even have to wear foundation anymore.

Wow sounRAB great - and anti-wrinkle too! Thanks for the recommendations - I will get dh to pick some up when he is in the US next month. You guys are so lucky to have Walgreens, Target etc!

I recommend Ultra-Calming SPF15 from Aveeno - the only moisturiser I've found that doesn't make me break out. Its oil-free, but feels more moisturising than Neutrogena oil-free. Its perfect for my sensitive, acne-prone skin, and the SPF is a bonus too.

Anyone recommend a cleanser to use once I get spiro and a topical from my derm (hopefully!)? I use Proactive now but its so harsh (I'm 32) and I know once you start a prescription topical, I should use a nice gentle cleanser (which I'm looking forward to!). Are there any anti-aging products out there that people with acne-prone skin can use? Or are these all too oily?

Thanks.

I use Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula, it makes your skin feel really soft and is a good toner. It's also supposed to help with scarring, but I've been using it for months and it hasn't seemed to do anything for mine.

Just to update, the only AHA product I could find here in Cayman is Neutrogena Healthy Skin AHA SPF15, so I've been using that in the morning, and washing with Olay Regenerist face wash at morning and night, and nothing else. So far so good - no new spots since I stopped the Proactive and started this routine - amazing considering this was the week before my period, usually the worst time. Might be speaking too soon though...!

But for now, so far so good, I've read good things about the Olay Regenerist line, and AHAs - any recommendations? It just feels nice to be using products designed for my age (32) rather than teenagers!

My skin had irritation reaction at all to the AHA - I guess it must be so desensitized due to all these months of Duac and Differin, and then Proactive! And I actually have sensitive skin - can't wear zinc oxide or bismuth oxychloride.
