So I've never done anything to my car at all, and last time I asked this question I used the words "free/cheap" without clarifying what I meant. I mean free like things I can do myself with little to no problems and cheap like less than $1000 at a time. Like if there is something I can do in stages, where I don't have to spend a billion dollars all at once.

Either way I'm more looking for an idiots guide to making my car better, because I know very little about it. The things I understand are limited to what I've done:
oil changes and air filters.
replacing front brakes, rear brakes and calipers.
installing radios
disconnecting the power antenna
and I've replaced the distributor (plus the cap, plugs & wires).

well it depends what u actually want to do to the car..preformance..looks..style..etc

u could very easily purchase a muffler (exhaust)..for preformance...below is some thing that you can do (all under $1000)
------------------
Preformance
------------------

Muffler
Air Intake
Turbo
ECU Chip (very effective)

--------
Style
--------

Neon
Racing seats
Alloy Wheels (hmm nice!)
Body Kits (front bumpers, side skirts, rear bumpers)
Spoilers

------------
Comfort
------------

Leather Interior

thats an online book to read on how to modify the engine and car for what you want...this is for better understandings and also that you wont get jipped by sales people when your buying your stuff...
