I was divorced in that state of Texas back in July of 2010. Right after that I moved and relocated to Los Angeles, California. I have two children ages 2 and 4. I was granted sole custody of the children. In the divorce decree it states that I can move and relocate at any time I please to do so without any permission. My Ex-Husband pretty much abandoned me while pregnant and with a infant. He just decided he would not come home one day. After that he refused to keep any contact with me and our oldest. For two years he never provided any type of child support. He was not even there for the birth of our youngest. He kept absolutely not contact with us until I was served divorce papers. Our children have no idea who he is. They didn't even recognize him in pictures or by voice. He is a complete stranger to them. He is now active duty navy and is gone most of the time on sea duty. He is stationed in the state of Virginia. Neither one of us has resided in Texas for months. He continues to keep no contact whatsoever with our children. I now go to school and work part time. My children go to a head start school for early education. We have built a very stable happy healthy life here since our move out of Texas. Not to mention we have a lot of family that surrounds us. In the divorce decree it states that he can take the children for two weeks straight in April of 2011. The children are going to freak out if that happens because to them a stranger is taking them away from their mother for two weeks and I am all they know. So if any one has any first hand information on how I can go about modifying the visitation order made in the state of Texas when I now live in the state of California I would greatly appreciate it.
