modafied a ford escort 1.8 diesel cool or not?

ryt erm i have got a diesel ford escort it is a 1.8 no turbo or owt so its slow it is red now what would you think if i turned up to a boy racer event in it seriously??is a diesel engine cool or not i plan to modify it by lowering it ect but im just not sure about a chugy old engine what should i do with it keep it or scrap it???the engine i mean lol

Generally speaking road cars with less than 2 liters of displacement are not cool. Unless it's a 6+ liter turbo diesel in a truck, diesels are not cool. Unless your Escort is an RS model, then it is not cool. Chances are you will be laughed at loudly. I drive a car with a 4.6L petrol V8 with a supercharger. And I get comments about having a small engine from the guys with 6.0-7.0+ liter V8s. It's funny to think that across the pond anything over a 2 liter engine is considered "big"

buy a rwd or awd platform to modify, keep the escort for a commuter.. the guys at work keep giving me hell because i drive a smurf blue honda civic to work everyday (100miles round trip) when theyre driving 15mpg suv's and trucks. im the one laughing all the way to the bank getting 33+mpg!
