I own and fly a homebuilt Kitfox aircraft in Norway and, during the winter, I pre-warm the engine with an electrical heater, prior to start up. But if I fly to a mountain airfield and spend the night there, chances are I won't get electricity. How can I warm up my little 85 HP air-cooled Jabiru engine? I was thinking of a paraffin cooker with a kind of chimney under the cowling. Then I am thinking of a very small engine, like a motor saw engine, having the exhaust entering the cowling from under. But then, that will be soothing. The exhaust should then be connected to a heat exchanger box and ... it becomes complicated. The I thought ... why not ask Yahoo!Answers?
