I have a 2003 Ford Mustang near 100k. And for the last few months I've noticed a noise like a moaning or whining.
I thought it might be the power steering pump or something but it doesnt get any worse when I turn the wheel, the fluid is at the proper level, and the steering seems fine.
It seems to go away when I accelerate. I only hear it when the car is at idle.
But I noticed it does get worse when I turn on the lights, the A/C, or do something to draw power. Could it be the alternator? A bad belt?
