MMA gym contract dispute? im about to go crazy?

I joined a gym and they made me sign the contract first day and i did then i came back the next day after more research to cancel my membership(which is allowed with in 3 days) they didn't have an office at the time so some one who was actually training at the time came and took down my name and told me to send a letter as to why to an agency. Due to my ignorance i taught it was just procedure and i didn't have to send it so i never did and during that time i had a car accident which totaled my car and gave me a lot of stress and pain and now its been three month and they are hassling me and telling me to do this and that so i lied and says im in another state and i cant do it( thinking they will let me go) but they they tell me to send them electric bills and such its getting me crazy, but after arguing i complied and said i will send the bills since i have family who live in another state, but they tell me the agency is closed or something and tell me to talk to their lawyer, i dont want to get ****** by a smart lawyer when i call tomorrow, what should i say to him/her. Please i need help, i just turned 19 i made a mistake signing up and i want to fix or i fear i will have a mental breakdown and get violent and do something i will regret.
