I recorded the NYY & San Fransico MLB game in HD on channel 882 at 10pm last night. Started watching the game after the recording had started from the beginning. About an hour into watching it, Descriptive Video started appearing. Don't know what started it.

First, did anyone else watch the game?
Did you have D/V or was it something I did?
If D/V got turned on while recording, can it be removed to watch later or once recorded is it part of the picture?

Would like to determine what happened so that it doesn't occur again.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just realized that I should have indicated the program was displaying CC (closed Caption) not D/V

I watched the same game (live) for a while, and closed captioning was on the screen. It was nothing you did. I was watching on Bev with a 6100 receiver.

My 9200 was tied up recording other games so I recorded the NY game on YES on my 5200 in STD and there wasn't any CC on it.

Any ideas who is best to contact to prevent this from occuring in future.

I doubt calling customer support will help any other than waisting time.

Did you verify it was in the video signal or not?

i.e. turn CC off on your TV - does it go away

turn CC on on your TV, do you get it twice (once in the video feed and once from your TV)? (hopefully offset a bit so you can see if it is "local" or in the feed)

"The closed captioning did not pop up for the Yankees hd game Tuesday night June 26th."

Our tech department fixed the satellite receiver last night before the game. This should eliminate any further CC problems with YES games.
