Hi! I have a year old havanese, who has a bit of a virus and is stressed out (mom is gone for a while so she's upset!)
Anyway
She has diarrhea and vomited twice, so the vet gave me
Metronidazole and Famotidine
The Metronidazole, I'm supposed to give 1/2 tablet every 24 hours
The Famotidine is 1/4 tablet every 12 hours
I accidentally gave her the Metronidazole when I was supposed to give the Famotidine (and I'll add it's been about 12 hours since she last had the Metronidazole, instead of 24 hrs)... should I be worried? Should I take her to the emergency vet clinic? Or should she be okay?
Yes we called the emergency clinc and asked and they said she should be fine. It's on the high end of a dose but it isn't a toxic/lethal dose. They said to watch out for stumbling, vomiting...anything out of the ordinary. They said she'd stop eating too. It's been about an hour and a half since I gave it to her and she seems okay... but yes. I'm still just a nervous wreck.
