Missed "100 Greatest Standups"

Due to a power cut in my house, my Sky+ failed to record this programme.
Will it be on again ?
I see that it is not on next week.

You didnt miss that much, it seemed to be the same clips from last year, I turned off after a while, was it stil the same number one as last year?

I can't find it on 4OD

I missed most of it having got in an hour after it started and falling asleep pretty much straight away! The bit I did see did seem the same as last time but with a few references such as Bernard Manning's death updated. I'd still like to see new entries though!

Hopefully it will be on 4OD before too long.

In the early part (the first hour or so) all the F-words were beeped out, then most of them were let through without beeps. Later on, they got beeped again - did C4 reach its F-word quota for the night?!

Ricky Gervias 3rd  ?!?!?!? , what a load of shite. As if he needs anyone else stroking his enormous ego.

And all the American stand ups on the list and no Rodney Dangerfield

It was really lazy producing by Channel 4. The least they could have done was insert different clips. I wonder just how many people bothered to watch to the end?

Ironically it was far easier to do 100 greatest than 30 greatest, because they were given such a shallow treatment that nobody at C4 had to do any thinking...

Not me. I got fed up with the random beeping - some beeped so much that you couldn't hear anything the comic said and some not beeped at all. There was no rhyme or reason to it - why was there any beeping at all at that time of night?

I had no plans to stay up until the end and was originally going to record the last part to watch later, but in the event I didn't bother.

Have to agree with that. 4 hours and 5 minutes for this.
My first thought was why not split it over two nights but after seeing it and some of the "time and effort" put into some of the acts then it could have easily been the top 25 or 30 with a decent segment on each.

Ricky Gervais? Thats taking the pee, the guy had his fifteen minutes of fame with The Office and has get worse as time moves on; he's on Graham Norton tonight to plug his latest attempt at being a film actor:rolleyes:

I know, I wasn't thinking of watching but I do have a thing about Ricci ;) and generally Norton's chat show is quite enjoyable - always depending on the guests though and this time Ricci wins out over the rest of them :D

As it was based on a viewers poll, enough people must disagree with you to put him third. His stand-up show is pretty good, and that's what is being judged, not The Office or his appearance on Graham Norton.

I'm more annoyed that someone like Lenny Bruce is placed below such comic genuises as Johnny Vegas. I know why it happens, but it shows how meaningless such a list is.

The show was bad, even by clip-show standards. Too much talking head comment and not enough of the stand-ups themselves.
