Hi guys, I'm new here so sorry if this is in the wrong category or anything, I'm just hoping to hear from experienced people.

So for what must be the past couple of months now I've noticed significant changes in my mood. I've never had fantastic self esteem but it's continued to get worse and worse, I honestly am starting to even have a drop in how significant I see myself as a person. I know a lot of people must go through this but spontaneous crying can't be awfully normal for an 18 year old lad who used to be mostly cheerful.
It isn't exactly uncommon for me to think about death but that's kind of normal, right? Everyone wonders what it would be like if they were gone.
I don't want to even suggest that I might have depression because I studied psychology in high school and I know what those people go through, I know it's not as bad as depression sufferers. I just don't know what it would be. Please try and help?

depression comes in many diffferent forms. What you studied in school is probably severe depression.

It is not normal for you to have crying jags or to think about death. This is suppose to be the start of the best time of your life.

Please get into your doctor and tell him exactly what you told us. I DO think that you have mild depression. Please get checked out.

I agree with the previous poster. Please seek professional help. It is a good step that you reached out here. Now you can get the support and help you need in your area.

I wish you all the best.

Jen
