Miro WCDMA2100/1900 option found in E61 Firmware

Id like to know if the reason why some N80s could convert to WCDMA1900 successfully. So far I havent conclusions that only a prototype model could, or that Euro models could NEVER. Id find it odd that Nokia would make the US version dual WCDMA capable (manually change in Phoenix) and not the Euro.

Why I ask -

I found in the E61's firmware files that it has the equivalent of Miro WCDMA mode like we find in the N80.

The real configuration file in the RM92_PP_DEFAULT.pp (the E61 has RM89_DEFAULT.pp)

The E61 and N80's .pp file aren't identical, the N80 has some different OPTIONS from the E61, but the MIRO WCDMA option is very present (line 4 for E61, line 7 for N80).

Tomorrow I will try to flash my E61 with the value "1" at line 4 to see what happens.

I'd like to report that I did the flashing with the Miro 1900 firmware change.

Result is... before I could detect a 3G network around me that was innaccessible, now I cant detect it anymore

What does it mean? Maybe nothing. Was the 3G network from before a 2100mhz and then when I flashed, it switched to 1900mhz and now doesnt detect anymore? I dont know.

Did the 3G network just disapear within the hour? probably not.

So SOMETHING happened in my phone.

and to repeat it again...

this can not be done, coz the process requires hardware and software, this is basic in the phone...

hardware side, you need a chip + antenna... even if the chip can support 1900 and 2100 (but i highly doubt it) still it wont work coz the antenna must be designed for 1900 as well...

there was a very long thread about this in the nokia thread about a company who claims that they can make normal 8800 to 8801, it is the same basic principle and i think people should learn from other thread...

It can definitely be done. Take your 8800 and put a 8801 chipset inside.
