Minor Problem with N80 sound

I have a minor problem with the N80 sound through HS23 headset. Its very low. I have it cranked up to 10 while playing video or music and the background noise still drowns it(like when I am on the train for my commute or at the gym). I can hear it but very low. Seems to be loud enough if I play it though the one speaker though. Just low when I have the headset on.

At first I thought it may be the way it was formated or dnld in the MiniSD Card. So I put it in my 6270. The sound is loud and only have to crank it 3/4 of the way up.

Does anyone else have the same problem and maybe a quick fix for it? Maybe the headset is not matched. Should I get the HS31 or some other?

I believe I have the latest firmware: 4.0623.0.42

Are you sure all the pins on the HS23 are making good contact with the pop port?

I bought an AD-46 headset on eBay to use with my N80, and at first it sounded horrible and I only got (very low volume) mono sound. I thought it was a fake headset, but then I inspected it closer and found that one of the pins wasn't in the fully up position, and making poor contact with the pop port. I poked the pin with a dental pick and it popped back up to full height, and from then on it worked perfectly with my phones.

OK..... I just made sure all the pins are upright. They are. They seem to be making contact. Also cleaned the port with compressed air. I have 2 HS 23 headsets. One that came from the N80 and another that came with my 6270. Just tried both with same results.

I'll see about picking up an AD-46 and see if that works. I may as well pick up a HS-31 too. I am think it is the headset. Also the headset controls do not work on the N80 as it does with my 6270. It does skip forward songs. Only the volume control works on the N80. I am thinking it is a headset problem rather than phone problem.
