Vehicle 1 pulls into the window lane at the bank. Then the second lane becomes available and Vehicle 1 decides to get into that lane. Vehicle 1 checks the rearview mirror, no one behind. Vehicle 1 then begins to back up. While Vehicle 1 is backing up, Vehicle 2 comes around the corner and up behind Vehicle 1, causing Vehicle 1 to back into Vehicle 2 and a dent is made on Vehicle 2's bumper. Whose fault is it? Whose insurance should pay? Vehicle 1 because they were not looking out of their rearview mirror while backing up, or Vehicle 2 because they should have been paying attention to the fact that Vehicle 1 was backing up, and given them room to do so?
