mini sd 1GB for nokia e62

hi
i just got my sandisk mini sd 1GB card from ebay and when i put it in my phone it says the capacity is 492MB used 8MB..that means total is only 500MB?? is that correct?? i don't know much about these things so i am just wondering if something is wrong here..

put it in your computer and see what it reads, that is not right, i have a sandisk 1gb and it reads just shy of 1gb. maybe the ebay person you got it from switched it out for a 512, lol.
