Military SBC replacement

Anyone know if the MSF can replace your course completion card? If I have to do another stupid basic rider course and the sport bike course, I'll shoot myself.

As fas as I know either the basic or advance is counted as the basic military. Now different places are implementing whatever the hell they want to make it so hard for us to ride. Look up what DOD requires.
In some bases they want you to do the basic, the advanced, the simulator class and if you ride sport bike then you have to completed the sport riders course. I ride with out them classes. It is so bad, even in my base if you plan on buying a motorcycle, you must tell the 1st field grade officer about it. Is not like asking for permission but so they know of your intentions. They say that your medical will be denied if something happens and so on if you are not in compliance but they can't do it. By law if something happens you are entitled that coverage.
You know, it is all to cover their asses. That's why they make shit up as they go. As long as you are in complience with DOD. I just don't ride to work, is not worth it. Besides I always wear leathers and as far as I know ACU's don't provide any protection.

Yes you can get them replaced, i am assuming you took the course on base...
Then they should maintain the records of them at the Provost Marshals office army side of the house.. or Maybe the safety office, for other branches.

Ive taken every course offered by the military, including the SBRC through the navy and they all keep records.. I dont think the MSF can replace it though, rather someone on post can replace it.

Yeah you're SoL on the new card but there is deff a record somehwere on post.... I'm the Motorcycle Rep for my unit here and I have a running spreadsheet that has everyone's dates. The safety office also has a record of when you took the class because it's reported strait to them.

I will say that when I registered my bike on post, all they looked for was the "MSF" logo. The completion card could have been for white water rafting, that's all they cared about was the logo

Have you tried contacting MSF directly? They hold copies of your card for 3 years. See, I got them to send me replacement cards recently. Notice the dates.

And yes Waller! I laminate everything

Off all the units and commands I'm familiar with, big and small, I have NEVER seen a command keep that type of information in that person's records. Unless that command has STRICT policies on motorcycle riding and made it mandatory.

But service or not, it is up to the individual to keep track of all of their information. PERIOD! If that means making duplicates, than so be it. I tell all my Soldiers to get familiar with all their files.

not sure if its beyond the CNO (chief naval operations) but at least in navy we keep copies of courses .. even have a site to schedule courses, which are MANDO every 2 years for active duty... yes you only need to do one course... if you have a sport bike, that is required additionally but resets clock... dont be surprised this Rule (probably developed by some bike hating non rider) comes other service directions soon... (as the navy gains data and the stars all sit around and say how statistically they are saving lives/money by forcing this on the riders)

if you havent taken the sport bike course its a joke... first n second gear in a parking lot with cones..... nothing at speed to actually teach you any real skills....
