My husband just found out that if his AIT is longer than 20 weeks (which it is), the military will pay for us to move near that fort. However, it's highly likely that he will be assigned to that same fort for his permanent duty station.
I know that if you live with 51 miles of the fort, it's considered a voluntary move and you can't break your lease - would that same issue still apply here? And would the military move us again to a house on the fort if we're in the same city? Or, if we were unable to break our lease, would the BAH end since there were open housing on base?
