Military MAC Flights for me?

I am about to join the navy and I have a daughter. Basically I want to be able to visit her as much as possible since her mom wants to go to college. So do MAC flights go from SD to LA??? or Washington to LA? and my recruiter said I would be able to take MAC flights for free is that correct? and you think it is a good way to see my daughter because they do live in LA?
 
MAC flights only work when you have the time to wait. Since you can't afford to get stranded flying space available it isn't as easy as it sounds. On the other hand if there is a regular flight it might work for you.
