Today i asked my chain of command to speak with an attorney on base. i was told i had to disclose the information with them that i wanted to speak with the attorney about. is this legal, or do i have the right to go Straight to the attorney without my chain of command knowing why?

You do not have to disclose the info with your chain of command unless it pertains to them.If it pertains to them, then you have to let them know.It is the way the military is set up.It gives them a chance to resolve the problem before it escalates.
