I just swore in to the us air force and was told by my recruiter not to say anything about my backround ie arrest record. i live in ca and ive only been arrested once when i was 13 or 14 i dont remember if i was fingerprinted or not i remember having my picture taken and put in holding for 20 something hours i was never charged. it is my understanding that after you turn 18 your record is cleared and everything prior is absolved also in ca we have whats called the reach program that for first time offenders rather then being jailed can do a few month long course and have there recored cleaned. i did attend reach and completed the course. my question is this when answering the questions at meps i informed them i had no prior arrests because i was informed of these things. when they do a background check will any of this pop up? and if so can i sew the state for lying to me about having my recored cleaned after completing reach? also if this will pop up is it to late to inform the people at meps?
